Movie synopsis
Mel, a bashful computer whiz played by Ethan Hunt, stumbles upon a mysterious program capable of pulling its user into fully immersive fantasies. His roguish roommate Sam, portrayed by John Roberts, senses opportunity and talks Mel into turning the invention into an underground business, offering eager clients a chance to live out their most private desires. As the two begin crafting tantalizing virtual scenarios populated by tempting personas like Ginger (Brandy Davis) and Diane (Jill Tompkins), the line between simulation and reality grows deliciously blurred. Yet beneath the hustle, Mel harbors a quieter longing: a woman he adores but cannot find the courage to approach in real life.
Directed by Cybil Richards, this 1998 American science-fiction romance blends technological intrigue with smoldering seduction, as Nikki Fritz and others drift through Mel's digital fantasies, each encounter nudging him closer to discovering whether a machine can truly deliver the intimacy he craves.
